I grew up playing junior golf in Bismarck, North Dakota and worked at golf courses in the Bismarck and Dickinson, N.D. area. I helped develop the junior golf programs, taught lessons, fitted golf clubs, and worked in the golf shops. I went on to play college golf for NDSU & then Texas Lutheran University. After college graduation, I played professionally for 10 years; I won 7 titles and qualified for various Nationwide tour events, including the 2003 U.S. Open.
During this time, I worked in both public and private facilities in various aspects. These opportunities allowed me to learn all aspects of the duties of the head golf professional.
I have spent more than 10 years with Golf Magazine Top 100 Golf instructor John Dahl learning the golf swing. I then learned custom fitting from Randy Henry, the founder of Henry-Griffitts Precision Fit Golf Clubs. Also, I am a certified fitter for Callaway, Ping and Titleist.
Upon moving to Texas, I was fortunate to start in the golf business working for Bill Rogers. As you know, Bill was the 1981 British Open Champion, 6-time PGA TOUR winner, and the Director of Golf at San Antonio Country Club for 10 years (1991-2001) where I worked from 1997 to 2007.
After playing professional golf for 11 years, my wife and I started a family and I became a golf professional for Municipal Golf Association of San Antonio. In February 2014, I became a Class A member of the PGA of America. During my apprenticeship, I gained head professional and teaching experience working at a variety of facilities over an 8 year period.
My passions are teaching, custom fitting, and program implementation. One of my main objectives is to develop a relationship with every member, while helping them play better golf. In today's arena, it is vital that we provide a great atmosphere for the member. I hope to serve the TPC-San Antonio membership to the best of my ability while providing quality instruction.
I look forward to meeting each of you and helping you with your golf game.
